This is my all time favorite place to get sushi! The food is always fresh and delicious, and the service is usually very quick and efficient, even on their busiest days. It may look like a random little strip mall from the outside, but the inside boasts an ambiance like no other. Date nights, dinners with friends, and even coming in to dine alone, they have all been pleasant experiences with amazing food and the best vibes. They also offer BYOB which is incredible. We've had dinners here dressed to the nines and other dinners dressed entirely in sweats--proof that any occasion can be celebrated here. Mr. Sushi is my holy grail and i will stand by that forever.
We can always improve somewhere so i tend to give 4 stars unless you have the wow factor, which was not here. Don't get me wrong, it was still a great experience. Me and the wife would always see this place when we are ordering on DoorDash, and have tried to come for dinner before but there was a waiting list, so we got the opportunity to come for brunch. Boy was i glad that we did because we were very surprise at the quality of food and service. Ambiance: this was ok, nothing big, or special about it. It could actually use an update, maybe some more modernization, brighter lighting, and something that would just make the inside pop. Food: the food was great and prepared per order. This place is an all you can eat spot, so you can order as much as you can take in. However, don't be that person, whose eyes are bigger than the belly because you cannot just come and waste food here like any other all you can eat buffet. If you do that here, you will be charged. All of the food that we ordered was great and we did two rounds of each, especially the crab ragoon, which was the best that i have had yet. Service: waitress ensure that we had our food timely, and our wait time was not long on our initial order and the additional orders. She definitely made sure that it came out hot and ready to each. If you are looking for an all you can eat sushi spot in the Cherry Hill area, then this is the spot. We have been back twice since our first time, and will be back again. We enjoy our time here and you will too.
My son's favorite for sushi. It's all you can eat for $25. There were five of us and we all chowed down mercilessly, leaving no fish behind. We ran the gamut from soup to ice cream. Everyone picking their favorites and everyone sharing. We brought our own beer. Service was good and the servers were spot on. The restaurant is medium sized and located in a strip mall. It was well lighted and appeared clean. Limited parking and HC spots in front, but more parking in the back.
I've been here easily 15 times over the past 5 years, most recently being last week with a group of friends, and before then, for my birthday in August. And I've never left unhappy. For ~$27 for an adult (might be $28 now?) before tax/tip, $12 for a kid up to 10, you order rounds of made-to-order sushi and sashimi (can watch the sushi chefs make it at the counter), as well as soups, salads, and hot food like teriyaki and tempura from the kitchen. And everything is so good!! I think maybe I've had noticeably better sushi at like, 1-2 other places? But I'll also spend way, way more at those places. For the price, for the selection (their AYCE menu includes special rolls, too), for the ability to try new things and explore foods with friends... I can't think of any place better. This latest time we went, we had friends with us from all over the country - as close as Philly, but as far as Georgia, Portland, Texas, and Hawaii (they were in for a reunion). For our last dinner together before everyone left, I brought them to Mr. Sushi. And they, including my friend who regularly eats sushi and poke in Hawaii, loved it. They were raving about the teriyaki sauce (it was so good!), trying all different kinds of sushi, and everyone had a fantastic time. This is absolutely my favorite casual spot. The dining room is nice and tranquil without making me feel like I have to dress up. I've gone there in a nice dress for my birthday, in business casual after work, in leggings on a Saturday, and I never feel out of place. The servers are always so nice and polite, attentive without hovering, and quick with drink refills and the cards for another round of food. There were times our orders weren't 100% correct- like the sushi platter for the table would come out and we'd have 2 salmon avocado rolls instead of 1, or be missing a tuna nigiri. But with AYCE, it doesn't really matter - it's not like you're being charged per item, or can't just reorder the thing you wanted in the next round. And Mr. Sushi's staff has always been so kind and accommodating. Whether I've showed up with a group of 10 people on a Tuesday night, or whether my kiddo has a weird food request (one night he wanted nothing but chicken nuggets and duck sauce....), or whether I'm asking for a side of their mango sauce with my ice cream at the end of the meal, they always do their best for us, no matter what. When I've had unfinished food I wanted to take home, they give me a really good price (I've never paid over $10, usually $3-$8 for a box of whatever rolls were leftover), and never make me feel bad about it. The dining room is always clean, we've never had any complaints about the bathrooms. Everything is just delightful. An easy five stars from me, my family, and our friends every time!
Food is always excellent and service is so fast Mom and son duo are the best Restaurant is such mood lighting and comfortable
Don't judge a book by its cover, Mr. Sushi is a great AYCE Japanese restaurant at a great value. They serve tasty Japanese cuisine with a wide range of flavors. It's also BYOB. Mr. Sushi is another restaurant that my fiancé introduced me to when we first started to date and is now one of our favorite AYCE Japanese restaurants. Best ayce sushi place in the area. Great, friendly, attentive staff. Good sushi, dumplings, teriyaki, noodles, soups. Great price! BYOB.
10/10 would come here for their AYCE, great deal!!!!!! I think it's $26.95 for dinner time? I don't think you'll get a better deal for this price on a Friday night. Came here with my family and we made a reservation in advance, I would suggest doing this as there is a long wait. I think there were people waiting for over an hour for walk ins. The food quality was good and they had a variety of options for their AYCE menu, not just sushi. There was fried rice, some appetizers, ramen, hibachi, etc. we focused mainly on the sushi though. I will say that the service is WONDERFUL!!! Despite how busy they are, their waiters and waitresses are very kind and attentive. I would come back here again just to get the same server that we had. She was so kind and patient with us, with our many requests lol. Unfortunately, do not know her name! The inside is busy and a bit loud, but clean and a nice place to eat. Will for sure be coming back here next time any of my friends or family want to do an AYCE sushi night.
Being as frugal as I am, you bet that I'll be sniffing out the opportunity to go to any AYCE in my area. When my craving is for sushi and sashimi, Mr. Sushi hits the spot just right. At the price point of a little over $30 per person, the quality of what you get here makes it an easy pick as a go-to spot. I love that there's a load of rolls to select from, and unless you're with an army of foodies who can help you the clean up the plates, it's safer to stick to the sashimi and nigiri pickings to help your taste buds diversify its sampling. Of the two times that I've gone there, I was impressed with the hefty slices of fresh sashimi that I get per each round. Service was also sufficiently attentive without being overly done. There were times when I felt like the ordering sheets could've been handed to us sooner, but that wasn't a huge deal since the turnaround time was pretty quick once we handed our selections to the waitress. Ambience here's pretty casual and low-key. I'm not sure who's handling their music selection, but that probably is an area of improvement since the songs didn't do well with the vibe of the place. In any case, if you're tired from a fighting the crushing crowd while shopping at the Cherry Hill Costco, Mr. Sushi is literally across the street for you to take your respite and nestle into its warm, japanese food-filled embrace. I know I'll be making a beeline to there again whenever the next opportunity arrives.
